What is a box league?

If you’re unfamiliar with the box league format, it is essentially a round robin, split up into divisions. Most box leagues require players to complete a series of matches against other players in their division, within a set time period (typically one month). At the end of each box cycle, players move up, down or remain unchanged based on their results. Each box league iteration is a commitment of only 3-4 games.

How does it work?

The box league format is great for getting people to play a good variety of players on a regular basis in a social environment. It’s fantastic for new members, as it gets them interacting with existing members quickly. It is also easy to opt in or out of a box league as the commitment is for only 3-4 games of the next cycle.

Each month players will be divided into boxes of 4 players (min 3 or max 5 players in a box depending on entries for the month).
Players recieve a score based on your matches scores and bonus points for completing all your matches. At the end of each month the players are reranked according to the scoring changes and new boxes are set up for the next month. 

Because of this rotation, players have to oppertunity to play against new competitors, and while most players will be at your level, the system offers the opportunity for players to learn and improve their game.

As a player what is required of me?

• We use SquashLevels for our Box Games. You need a free player account to be able to play.

• Each month you will have to drop from the box if you don't want to play that next month.

• When the schedule is published below, find the box where your name is. Contact the other players in that same box to schedule a match against each one. You can schedule these matches whenever it suits both players. (once a week, is suggested, but not required) .

• After each match is played, post the results in the SquashLevels app.

• You need to play your matches by the last day of the month. If a player is not available they will forfeit the points. 

• All players are part of the Box Games group. You can get their contact details in the participents list. If you can't find them ask an admin to help.
